Orientation Updates

Hello Abecedarian 1 Families,

I enjoyed seeing all of the kids this past Thursday night. My whole family is super excited about this year. I hope your families are too!

I have a few little things I want to address that I didn’t include in my parent letter.

Blog: All families need to subscribe to the Classical Conversations of Greensboro blog. You will also need to subscribe to my blog page. The blog address is www.ccofgreensboro.blogspot.com

Snacks: I have decided to provide simple snacks for our class. I just need to make sure that none of our kids have allergies. If your child does have a food allergy of some sort, please email me and let me know. These will just be simple like goldfish and juice. If you decide that you want to provide a small snack for the class at some point, for a special occasion or just because, please let me know a week in advance.

Prize Box: At the end of class each week I want the kids to get to pick treasure from a prize box/treasure chest. I’m already gathering items to include in the “treasure” like, special pens, stickers, erasers, little bracelets for the girls. I’m going to ask my daughter who makes friendship bracelets to make some for the box. If you have any thing you would like to contribute please feel free. I have found that  “kids meal” toys make great little prizes for this age group. We always have quite a few of those laying around the house. I would prefer to not include candy.

Toys: Please do not allow your child to bring any toy to class unless it is one used for a “show and tell” type presentation. Book bags and such are fine but you don’t have to provide any crayons, pencils etc.

I will be sending everyone a list of our oral presentations soon. I will also be putting it on the blog.

Again, I can’t wait to get started.

Blessings,
Kyle Thomas (336-954-5074)
