Trying to post my Week 2 post again!!! :)

Hello all! I hope everyone has had a great week and is gearing up for a fantastic weekend. We had a lot of fun on Tuesday. I think everyone had gotten over the first week jitters and felt a bit more comfortable. My favorite activity was the science activity where we put together the x-ray skeleton. The kids really enjoyed it too.

We sang our History and English sentence with the help of our egg shakers and movement. Next we worked on skip counting by literally "skipping", or jumping rather, on the different numbers. Loretta the Latin Lover came by to help with our Latin conjunctions. Then we used our snack of goldfish to help us locate our northeastern states and capitals.  We used hand motions to help us remember the bones of the axial skeleton! And last but not least we talked about mirror images and got to try our hands at making our own mirror images.

After our science time we came back and reviewed our week one memory work by playing a rousing game of Hullabaloo! FUN!!!!

Just a few optional tips. When skip counting those 3's to Jingle Bells, you can sing the 3's straight through with out stopping and then having to speak the 33 and 36. We practiced that at CC this past week. Also, a fun activity to demonstrate mirror image is to put a few globs of paint in the middle of a piece of prefolded construction paper. Have your child press down some and then open the paper back up slowly. Viola!!! Mirror image!!! :)

Again, hope everyone is getting ready for a great weekend! Looking forward to next Tuesday.

Blessings,
Kyle Thomas
